2023 marks three hundred years of the legendary poet Meer Taqi Meer. A fresh wave of readers is turning to him, paying tribute to his poetic and linguistic legacy. In this festival of Meer’s life and poetry, a question is being asked more often than any other: Where is Meer’s final resting abode?
किशोरावस्था में ही मिल जाने वाले इश्क़ के सबक़ को लेकर मीर उम्र भर जीते रहे। उनकी ज़िंदगी का कोई काम इश्क़ के शोर और वलवले से ख़ाली नहीं था। उन्होंने न सिर्फ़ पिता से ये नसीहतें सुनी थीं बल्कि इश्क़ में शराबोर उनके जीवन का नज़ारा भी किया था।
दिल्ली वक़्त जितना ही पुराना शह्र है। इस शह्र के सब से पुराने आसार तक़रीबन 300 क़ब्ल-ए-मसीह के आस-पास के हैं। ये शह्र हमेशा से तहज़ीब, तरक़्क़ी और फ़ुनून-ए-लतीफ़ा का मर्कज़ रहा है। इसी लिए, जब हम तारीख़ के पन्ने पलटते हैं तो पाते हैं कि इस शह्र ने जितने आली-मर्तबत लोगों को अपनी तरफ़ खींचा, उतने ही हम्लावरों को भी।
Derived from its Arabic root Zimn, Tazmin literally means to join or include one thing in another, but in poetics, it means inserting the verses of another in one’s own poem. It’s a genre of poetry in which a poet draws upon a line, or a couplet, belonging to some other poet and adds to it a line of his own.
قدیم زمانہ میں کسی استاد کی شاگردی اختیار کئے بغیر شعر کہنا معیوب سمجھا جاتا تھا۔ مبتدی شعراء بڑی منت سماجت کر کے کسی مستند شاعر کی شاگردی کا شرف حاصل کرتے۔ زبان و فن کی باریکیاں سیکھنے کی کوشش کرتے تھے۔ استاد کو دکھائے بغیر ایک شعر بھی کسی محفل میں پڑھنے کی جرأت نہیں کرتے تھے۔
