अच्छी शायरी क्या होती है इसका फ़ैसला करना बहुत मुश्किल है। बड़े बड़े दानिश-वरों और नाक़िदों ने मुख़्तलिफ़ तरीक़ों से अच्छी शायरी की तारीफ़ की है इनसे कोई एक ऐसा नतीजा निकालना जो सबको क़ुबूल हो, नामुमकिन सी बात है। आख़िर इसकी वजह क्या है क्यों कोई उसूल इस बारे में नहीं बन सकता।
