चाँद से मुतअल्लिक़ बहुत सारे मुहवारे भी हमारी ज़बान का हिस्सा हैं, मसलन ईद का चाँद होना, चार चाँद लगना वग़ैरह। इसके बावजूद जब मैं चाँद के हवाले से शायरी की बात करता हूँ तो मेरे ज़हन में सिर्फ़ दो नाम नुमायाँ होते हैं – पहला मीर तक़ी मीर और दूसरा इब्न-ए-इंशा।
रऊफ़ साहब ने उस वक़्त इस दुनिया को अलविदाअ’ कहा जब उनकी शाइरी अपने उरूज पर थी। रऊफ़ साहब का नाम जदीद शाइरी के उन मो’तबर नामों में शुमार होता है जिन्होंने अपने आस-पास की चीज़ों को शाइरी में ढालकर ज़िन्दगी को देखने का एक ऐसा नज़रीया पेश किया।
शकेब जलाली की शायरी का उस्लूब मुनफ़रिद और मुमताज़ है और उनकी ग़ज़ल में क़ुदरत रात-दिन, जंगल-सेहरा, बहार-ख़िज़ाँ, अपने हर रूप में जलवा-नुमा है। उनकी शाइरी में ख़िज़ाँ-रसीदा शजर, चाँद, दरिया के इस्तिआरे क़सरत से इस्तेमाल हुए हैं।
