Different poets might use slightly different distribution of words and word clouds are typically used to convey information about the distribution of words in some specific context. The more a word is used, the bigger it is on the cloud. So, let us make these word clouds for some prominent poets and see if they convey some insight into their commonalities and distinctiveness.

وقت کے ساتھ ساتھ چیزوں کے پیمانے بھی بدلتے رہتے ہیں۔ ان تبدیلیوں کے پس پشت ضرورت اور حالات کی تبدیلیاں کارفرما ہوتی ہیں۔ تبدیلی وقت کا خاصہ ہے اور اس وصف سے خود وقت بھی مستثنیٰ نہیں رہا ہے۔چنانچہ وقت کے ساتھ ساتھ وقت ناپنے کے پیمانوں میں بھی بدلاؤ آتا رہا ہے۔ وقت کو ناپنے کی انسان کو سب سے پہلےکب ضرورت پڑی اس بارے میں وثوق سے کچھ نہیں کہا جاسکتا۔
ग़ज़ल गायकों में वैसे तो बहुत बड़े बड़े नाम हुए हैं, लेकिन इसको एक नया आहंग देने में जगजीत सिंह का बेहद अहम योगदान है। ग़ज़ल गायकी में पहली बार गिटार, वायलिन जैसे साज़ों का इस्तिमाल करके एक नया रूप पैदा करना ये सिर्फ़ जगजीत सिंह के बस की ही बात थी। उन्होंने वाक़ई उर्दू शायरी और उर्दू ग़ज़ल को वो मक़ाम दिया है जो उसे मिलना चाहिए था। उनके और उर्दू के चाहने वाले ये बात कभी नहीं भूल सकते।
मिर्ज़ा दाग़ देहलवी कहते हैं कि आगे मैं आपको जो भी बताने-समझाने जा रहा हूँ उन तमाम बातों को ग़ौर से सुन लें क्यों कि इन सब बातों को जाने-समझे बग़ैर आप अच्छे शे’र नहीं कह पाएँगे। आपका बयान और ज़बान यूँही सी रहेगी उसमें कोई ख़ूब-सूरती, नया-पन और तख़्लीक़ी सलाहियत पैदा नहीं हो सकेगी।
