मीर तक़ी मीर, जिन्हें ख़ुदा-ए-सुख़न भी कहा जाता है, उर्दू के सबसे बड़े शा’इर हैं। मीर को ये दर्जा केवल उनकी शा’इरी की वजह से नहीं, ज़बान की इर्तिक़ा में उनके योगदान की वजह से भी हासिल है। शा’इरी का हर रंग उनके यहाँ नुमायाँ मिलता है, और इस लिहाज से वो उर्दू के वाहिद मुकम्मल शा’इर कहे जा सकते हैं।
