Derived from its Arabic root Zimn, Tazmin literally means to join or include one thing in another, but in poetics, it means inserting the verses of another in one’s own poem. It’s a genre of poetry in which a poet draws upon a line, or a couplet, belonging to some other poet and adds to it a line of his own.
जिगर साहिब रिवायती ग़ज़ल के आख़िरी बड़े शायर हैं। लेकिन उनकी शायरी के आख़िरी दौर में कहीं-कहीं आधुनिकता के हल्के-हल्के रंग भी नज़र आने लगे थे। अगर जिगर साहिब को दस बरस की ज़िन्दगी और शायरी अता हो जाती तो मुमकिन है कि जिगर साहब जदीद शायरी की बुनियाद रखने वाले शायरों में भी गिने जाते।
The word Ishq has been derived from its Arabic cognate ‘Ashiqa (عشقه) which is a kind of ivy or Bel, as we refer to in Hindi. But this is not just any creeper growing around. This clinging plant is actually a parasitic plant – similar to the mistletoe – that actually wraps up around another plant and eventually dries it out completely, to the extent that the original plant dies and only the passion-vine (ivy) remains.
दुष्यंत को सिर्फ सियासत को आइना दिखाने वाला शायर ही समझ लेना इस शायर और इसकी शायरी की अनदेखी करना है, जो कि हम लोग वर्षों से करते आ रहे हैं। दुष्यंत अपने हाथों में अंगारे लिए नज़र आता है मगर दूसरी तरफ उसके सीने में वह महके हुए फूल भी हैं जो जवां दिलों को महकाते हैं और प्रेम की एक अनदेखी और अनजानी फिज़ा कायम करते हैं।
ग़ालिब सीरीयल के तअल्लुक़ से एक और दिलचस्प क़िस्सा है। नसीरुद्दीन शाह मुँह-फट, और ग़ुस्सैले मशहूर हैं। ज़बान पर अंग्रेज़ी की वो गाली जो एफ़ से शुरू होती है, वो भी चढ़ी हुई है। उनकी शरीक-ए-हयात रत्ना ने उनसे गुज़ारिश कि ख़ुदा के लिए अपनी ज़बान पर क़ाबू रखना क्योंकि तुम इंडस्ट्री के तीन सब से ज़ियादा मोहज़्ज़ब, शाइस्ता और शरीफ़ लोगों के साथ काम कर रहे हो।
