Akhtar ul Iman was one of the most important Urdu poets of his time. Considered as one of the pillars of modern Urdu Nazms (Poems). Akhtar also wrote dialogues for more than hundred bollywood films including ‘Waqt’ and ‘Qaanoon’.
शकेब जलाली की शायरी का उस्लूब मुनफ़रिद और मुमताज़ है और उनकी ग़ज़ल में क़ुदरत रात-दिन, जंगल-सेहरा, बहार-ख़िज़ाँ, अपने हर रूप में जलवा-नुमा है। उनकी शाइरी में ख़िज़ाँ-रसीदा शजर, चाँद, दरिया के इस्तिआरे क़सरत से इस्तेमाल हुए हैं।
Mushaira (mehfil or bazm) is a gathering of the poets who write, recite and listen to poetry of one another written in Urdu language, with a participative and responsive audience. It is not a contest which has a winner in the end, but the poets simply read out their self-composed poems in their patented and individual styles, crafted in accordance with a specific metrical pattern and carrying a certain loftiness of thought.
शायर जलील मानिकपूरी साहब अपनी महबूबा की तस्वीर देखते हुए कहते हैं कि इस तस्वीर में हर अदा अच्छी है, सिवाए इस बात के कि तस्वीर में महबूबा ख़ामोश है। अब ये सभी को पता है कि अपनी तस्वीर में कोई भी शख्स ख़ामोश ही रहेगा, लेकिन फिर भी शायर का बयान लुत्फ़ देता है।
Mir Taqi Mir, aged 60, finally arrived in the court of Lucknow at the request of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daulah in the year 1782. Being a traveller customarily staying in a Sarai Mir, learnt about a Mushaira that was about to take place one evening.
